INDUSTRY HILLS,
Calif. - CSU Bakersfield men's golfers Patrick Bell (Sr., Manchester,
England, Reedley College) and Dylan Lym (So., Evanston, Wyo., Evanston
HS) both carded rounds of 3-over 75 and are tied for 14th place after
the first 18 holes of the Cal State Fullerton Folino Invitational at Industry Hills Golf Club on Sunday.
After the
first day of action of the three-day, 54-hole tournament, the 'Runners
are in sixth place in the nine-team field with a 15-over 303.
"The team started the round strong, but did not finish it off very well," said CSUB head coach Dave Barber. "We need to finish better on Monday."
Matt
Hammons (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Highland HS) finished one stroke
behind Bell and Lym with a 4-0ver 76 and is tied for 21st place. Junior
Chase Goodvin (Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) posted a round of
5-over 77 and is in a tie for 26th place.
UC Irvine is
sitting atop the team standings with a 290, while Sacramento State's
Ryan Williams and Long Beach State's Raymond Ho are tied for first place
individually after shooting 3-over 79s.
