ST. GEORGE, Utah - Overcoming cold conditions, Patrick Bell (Sr., Manchester, England, Reedley College) and Daniel Richardson (Surrey, England, Reedley College) both shot rounds of 3-over 75 and are tied for 26th place after the first day of action at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite on Monday at Sunbrook Golf Club.

Richardson was helped out by six birdies on the day.

As a team, the 'Runners are tied for 12th in the 14-team field with a 309 after 18 holes in the 36-hole tournament. The weather has been cold Sunday's practice round was delayed by snow, making for less than ideal conditions in the 'Runners first tournament of the spring season.

"We were pretty rusty because we haven't played a tournament since October, so they were just trying to get their feet wet, but because of the snow, but just getting back into tournament mode," said CSUB head coach Dave Barber. "Hopefully we'll play better tomorrow and then we are looking forward to Fullerton next week."

Chase Goodvin (Jr., Bakersfield, Calif., Frontier HS) shot a 77 and is tied for 50th place, while Matt Hammons (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Highland HS) posted an 82 and is tied for 81st place.

College of Charleston is leading the field with a 286 and there is a four-way individual tie for first place with Charleston's Alex Ellis, Utah State's Tanner Higham, BYU's Stephen Archibald and Cal Poly's Camden Price all carding 2-under 70s.

Tuesday's final round will tee off with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
