BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The CSU Bakersfield men's golf team will tee off in its first tournametn of the spring season on Monday and Tuesday as the 'Runners will be playing in the Ninth Annual Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.

The tournament, which is being hosted by Southern Utah University, will be contested Monday and Tuesday over the Point and Woodbridge nines at Sunbrook, a par 72, 6,879-yard layout.

This year's 14-team field includes Boise State, Cal Poly, CSUB, College of Charleston, Denver, Dixie State, Idaho, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts, Seattle U., Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State and the host Thunderbirds. Denver is returning to the field after a three-year hiatus while Idaho and Northern Colorado are making their first appearances at the invitational.

After playing three tournaments in the fall, the 'Runners will now be competing in six tournaments this spring including the concluding American Sky Conference Championship April 29 through May 1 in San Antonio, Texas. CSUB will also be hosting a tournament of its own this spring in the CSUB Invitational at Bakersfield Country Club March 25-26.

This spring, the 'Runners will look to build off of a productive fall season that saw Patrick Bell (Sr., Manchester, England, Reedley College) lead the team with a per-round average of 73 strokes.
