BAKERSFIELD, Calif.- CSU Bakersfield women's basketball guard Tyonna Outland has become the latest Roadrunner student-athlete to be honored by the Bakersfield Jockey Club for her outstanding performance recently.

Outland was presented with her award alongside several other prep and collegiate athletes Monday at a Jockey Club luncheon at Hodel's restaurant. Outland was accompanied and presented by head coach Greg McCall.

Outland, a redshirt sophomore has been a major part of CSUB's second-half turnaround as the Roadrunners are enjoying a five-game winning streak including three victories over future Western Athletic Conference mates Utah Valley, Texas Pan American and most recently Chicago State. Outland is averaging 11.2 points per game this season while recently scoring 14 in CSUB's win at Chicago State, a game prior to that Outland recorded her first double-double of the season with 20 points and 11 rebounds in a home win over Utah Valley 67-65.

The Bakersfield Jockey Club has been honoring Kern County student-athletes for 49 years and will honor a total of 300 student-athletes this school year.
