BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--The CSU Bakersfield women's basketball team hosts UC Irvine Friday night before traveling to Pacific Monday afternoon.

The Roadrunners defeated the Anteaters 71-64 Dec. 9 in Irvine. CSUB leads the all-time series 7-1. UCI is 3-8 overall splitting a pair of games last week. Two of UCI’s three wins have come on three-pointers by junior guard Kelly Meggs. Jennifer Tsurumoto leads the team in scoring (10.8).

CSUB and Pacific are playing for the fourth time with the Roadrunners leading the all-time series 2-1. The Tigers defeated the ‘Runners 96-73 last season in Bakersfield. The Tigers were 8-2 entering a Dec. 29 game at home against San Francisco. Pacific is led by Kendall Kenyon and Gena Johnson who are both averaging 10.9 points per game.

Cebrina Johnson (R-So., Corona, Calif., Santiago HS) was selected CollegeSportsMadness Independent Player of the Week Dec. 24. In two games during the week, Johnson averaged 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game during the week.
