FULLERTON, Calif.-Britton Williams (Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) scored the game-deciding basket with a layup inside of 30 seconds remaining to build a late four-point lead for CSUB as the 'Runners held on at the free throw line and the offensive glass for the 72-70 win Thursday night in Fullerton.

Following a Fullerton turnover, CSUB led 68-66, Williams was taking time off the clock then drove to the basket with 8 seconds remaining on the shot clock to put CSUB up 70-66. The Titans returned the favor with a Kwame Vaughn layup with 14 seconds remaining. The Titans fouled Williams on the inbound pass putting him at the free throw line. Williams made the first, missed the second but an offensive rebound by Adam Young (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev. Barton CC) allowed Javonte Maynor (So., Atlanta, Ga., Georgia State) to draw a foul and go to the line where he hit one of two shots to give the 'Runners a 72-68 lead with 8 second left.

Sammy Yaeger missed a three-pointer and Kwame Vaughn tipped it in as the clock expired but it wasn't enough as CSUB snapped Fullerton's 13-game home winning streak. CSUB was the last team to defeat the Titans in Fullerton winning 73-66 last November.

For the second game in a row five CSUB players scored in double figures led by Stephon Carter (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif., Garces HS) who scored 20 points for the third time this season while Brandon Barnes (R-Jr., Atlanta, Ga., Lipscomb) scored 14 points on 6-9 shooting. Young logged his first double-double of the season scoring 10 points while grabbing a season-high 13 rebounds including seven offensive rebounds, including the critical rebound that helped seal the win. CSUB outrebounded Fullerton 47-31 including 19 offensive rebounds for the 'Runners.

Carter's 20 points drew him within two points of 5th on the all-time CSUB scoring list. He's also just six points shy over taking over 4th all-time from Carl Toney.

CSUB's win is their fourth straight against Cal State Fullerton and their second in a row at Titan Gym. The 'Runners remain on the road Sunday taking on South Dakota State at 2 P.M. CST.
