FRESNO, Calif.--Tyler Iwamura (R-Sr., San Diego, Calif., Santa Fe Christian HS) and Jake Briggs (R-So., Fair Oaks, Calif., Boise State) picked up victories for CSU Bakersfield Saturday at the 2012 Roadrunner Open in Fresno.  There were no team scores in the event held in Selland Arena.

Iwamura defeated Grand Canyon's Kyle McCrite 10-5 in the finals of the 125-pound weight class. Briggs earned a 3-1 decision over Shane Fenningham of Drexel to earn the championship at 149 pounds.

Ian Nickell (R-Fr., Bakersfield, Calif., Bakersfield HS) was the runner-up at 133 pounds. Nickell, who improved to 9-1 on the year, dropped a 18-3 technical fall to Ryan Mango who was wrestling unattached from Stanford.

Jose Mendoza (R-Jr., Selma, Calif., Selma HS) placed second at 141 pounds after being pinned by Cal Poly's Brandon Rocha in the finals.

The Roadrunners open Pac-12 action next Saturday when CSUB wrestles Arizona State as part of a tri-dual at Grand Canyon in Phoenix. The Roadrunners face the Sun Devils at 9 a.m. (MST) and the Lopers at 11 a.m. (MST).
