BAKERSFIELD, Calif.,-- Mission Bank, a locally-owned, based and operated institution, has been designated 'The Official Business Bank of CSUB Athletics' following a new corporate deal announced Wednesday from Nelligan Sports Marketing, CSUB's corporate sponsorship representative.

The agreement allows Mission Bank access to the thousands of Roadrunner fans that visit various home athletic contests throughout the year as well as special events, other functions and the broadcast properties of CSUB Athletics.

"We are very appreciative that Mission Bank, a regional bank focused in Kern County, has chosen to partner with us," said Director of Athletics Jeff Konya. "I think it is going to be a mutually-beneficial relationship for both entities as we grow together."

In return for a sizeable contribution to CSUB Athletics, Mission Bank will receive prominent signage in the Icardo Center, Main Soccer Field, Hardt Field, and Hillman Aquatics Center, as well as special events, such as the CSUB BBQ, Casino Night and Roadrunner Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament.

"Mission Bank and CSUB Athletics share local deep roots, we have long supported the university's efforts and are proud to solidify our commitment to CSUB." said Mission Bank President A.J. Antongiovanni. "We are proud to have CSUB students, faculty, staff and alumni as members of the Mission Bank family - as both customers and employees. The partnership with CSUB Athletics is a natural extension of Mission Bank's years-long embrace of this fine Bakersfield university."

Mission Bank has three locations in Kern County including two in Bakersfield at 1330 Truxtun Avenue, their Greenfield branch at 10 Panama Road and their Shafter location at 1110 E. Lerdo Highway. Their pending merger with Mojave Desert Bank N.A. will expand Mission's focus into Eastern Kern County and High Desert marketplaces and will allow for offices in Mojave, Ridgecrest, Lancaster and Helendale.

Mission Bank is the latest local company to partner with CSUB Roadrunner Athletics since it was announced last week that CSUB will join the Western Athletic Conference in 2013. The conference arrangement allows for maximized regional and national exposure for corporate partners like Mission Bank.
