BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Junior outside hitter Debora Araujo (Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Western Nebraska C.C.) registered her fifth double-double of the season with an 18 kill, 11 dig performance, but it wasn't enough to lift the CSU Bakersfield volleyball team over Boise State on Saturday night as the 'Runners fell 3-1 (25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 28-26) at the Icardo Center.

A packed house was on hand to see the close match and the attendance of 611 people is the second-largest crowd for the CSUB volleyball program at the Icardo Center since the 'Runners moved up to the Division I level in 2007. The largest crowd on the books in 1,008 from 2010 when CSUB hosted UCLA.

In the second set, CSUB (7-10) pieced together a 9-1 rally to help lead to a 25-21 win. The 'Runners showed their resolve at the end of the match by taking the Broncos (9-10, 1-3 Mountain West) into an extended set, but Boise State was able to come out on top.

"I felt like we put up a good battle most of the time tonight. We are looking forward to seeing Boise State again later this season," said CSUB head coach Jolene Shepardson. "But we have to refocus to get a little bit better for tomorrow's match against Bucknell."

Junior outside hitter Shayna Guitare (Torrance, Calif., Los Angeles Pierce College) posted 13 kills, while freshman opposite hitter Kelsee Sawyer (Temecula, Calif., Great Oak HS) added 11 kills. Junior setter Fernanda Gonçalves tallied 53 sets and libero Mariah Alvidrez (R-So., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) and setter Lisa Bartsch (Jr., Wuppertal, Germany, Augusta State) scooped up 15 and 10 digs respectively.

CSUB will be back in action on Sunday with another home match against Bucknell (6-12, 0-5 Patriot League) at 5 p.m.
