BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield begins back to back men's soccer weekends against San Jose State and Seattle University this weekend at the Main Soccer Field.

The Roadrunners host San Jose State Friday night at 7 p.m. and the Redhawks Sunday at 1 p.m. Next weekend, CSUB travels to San Jose on Oct. 12 (7 p.m.) and Seattle on Oct. 14 (1 p.m.).

The Roadrunners and San Jose State are playing for the eighth time with the Spartans leading the all-time series 4-3. The teams split a pair of matches last season with each team winning on its home field.

The Spartans are 3-4-1 with the tie coming against Seattle University last weekend. Senior forward Steven Sanchez has scored six times in the last six matches. He leads the team in points with 13. Jonathan Salceda has a team leading four assists.

Seattle leads the all-time series against CSUB 8-5. The Roadrunners swept the season series last season. The Redhawks are 2-5-1 after playing a scoreless tie San Jose State last week in Seattle. Miguel Gonzalez and Marshall Kosaka lead the team in goals (2) and points (5).

CSU Bakersfield broke or tied three school Division I records in the 5-1 victory over UNLV. The Roadrunners recorded five goals, eight assists and 18 points against the Rebels Sept. 29. The eight assists broke the CSUB D-1 record of seven which was set against UC Riverside Aug. 27, 2011. The five goals and 18 points tied the school marks which were set against Riverside last season.

Lucas Dall'Orso (So., Orange County, Calif., JSerra Catholic High School) was named MPSF Men's Soccer Player of the Week Oct. 1.

Dall'Orso came off the bench to score two goals and record two assists to lead CSU Bakersfield past UNLV 5-1 in the MPSF opener for both schools Sept. 29. His two goals matched his season total from 2011, while the six points equaled a 2012 individual best in the conference. Five of Dall’ Orso’s points came in the second-half.

Gyasi Zardes (R-Jr., Hawthorne, Calif., Leutzinger HS) earned MPSF Player of the Week honors for his performance in the same match. Zardes scored two goals and dished out two assists against the Rebels.
