BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Outside of wrapping up its 2012 campaign with a victory over North Dakota in the Great West Conference Championships to finish in fifth place in its first year in the conference, the CSU Bakersfield tennis team also claimed another win at the end of the season as the Second Annual Fore The Athletes Golf Tournament was a complete success.
The event, which was held on April 16 at The Links RiverLakes Ranch, is key to raising the necessary funds that allow the Roadrunner tennis program to compete as a Great West Conference team.
The CSUB tennis program would like to especially thank Jennifer and Gary Hadaway, owners of Gary Hadaway Construction, Inc.
"They have not only been monetarily supporting the event, but without them, especially Jennifer's tireless work, the event would have never been possible," said CSUB head tennis coach Regina Csibi-Krueger.
The Roadrunners would also like to express their gratitude to the following companies for their support: Advance Beverage Company, Canteen Vending, FIAT of Bakersfield, Frito Lay, Inkworks, Board A Petite, Robert Heely Construction, IES Engineering, SR2020, Inc., Tennis Warehouse and KERO Channel 23.
"Everyone had a great time and we are very grateful for everyone who has supported us, some of them for the second year," Csibi-Krueger. "We are looking forward to next year's event."
