HARLINGEN, Texas — After notching a key victory in singles play and being part of the Roadrunner sweep in doubles action that led to the first win of the year for the CSU Bakersfield tennis team at the Great West Conference Women's Tennis Championships on Sunday, CSUB junior Julian Mannix (Santa Barbara, Calif., San Marcos HS) was honored as a member to the All-GWC Second Team.

The 2012 season was the first for CSUB in the GWC, making Mannix the first Roadrunner to be selected for an All-GWC tennis squad.

Playing against North Dakota in the fifth-place match at the GWC Championships on Sunday, Mannix recorded a victory in the No. 3 singles match by beating Sarah Stejskal 7-5, 6-2. Mannix also teamed up with Estefania Limpias (R-So., Bakersfield, Calif., Liberty HS) to defeat North Dakota's Stephanie Petsis and Stephanie Biehn 8-4 in the No. 1 doubles showdown.

Sixth-seeded CSUB went on to win the match 4-2 over No. 5 North Dakota and finish in fifth place in the GWC standings.

On the season, Mannix went 7-4 in singles action with one unfinished match, which took place on Saturday in CSUB's 4-0 loss to No. 3-seeded University of Texas-Pan American. Mannix also went 6-6 in doubles action this season.
