The CSU Bakersfield men's and women's track and field teams will be in action at the Tommy "Tiny" Lister Invitational hosted by Cal State Los Angeles on Friday and Saturday.

The meet will feature teams including CSUB, Cal State Northridge, Cal Poly, USC, Cal Poly Pomona, Mt. Sac, Long Beach State and host Division II Cal State L.A to name a few.

The 'Runners are going to shake things up a bit this weekend in an effort to rest so they can make it through the long outdoor season.

"We are going to have some athletes doing some events they usually don't do. This is a rest-active weekend for us so we can rest up some of the athletes who have some minor pulls and strains," said CSUB head coach Alan Collatz. "That being said, we are still going to run hard and look to continue to improve so we can be ready for the Great West Conference Championships."

The 'Runners are coming off one of their best performances of the season at the California-Nevada Championships in Claremont, Calif. March 31 and April 1. CSUB was led by sophomore sprinter Jordan Taylor (Palmdale, Calif., William Knight HS), who won the 100-meter dash and placed second in the 200-meter dash.

The Tommy "Tiny" Lister Invitational will begin on Friday, but only the discus, hammer and javelin will be held on the opening day. All other events will take place on Saturday. Action on both days will begin at 10 a.m.
