Kenneth 'Ziggy' Siegfried, Senior Associate Athletics Director

Kenneth “Ziggy” Siegfried was named the Senior Associate Athletics Director for CSU Bakersfield in March of 2012. In this role, he oversees all aspects of development/fundraising, provides sport oversight for men's soccer and softball and oversees the Athletics Department in the absence of the Director of Athletics.

Siegfried arrived in Bakersfield from the University of Memphis where he had spent the previous eight years. During his time at the University of Memphis he held various positions including serving on the Senior Staff in the Athletics Department and most recently serving as the Senior Director of Development for the Fogelman College of Business & Economics.


Marcus Brown, Associate Athletics Director for Compliance 
Brown comes to CSUB from Pepperdine University where he served in a similar role for the Waves overseeing both NCAA and West Coast
Conference compliance  issues since 2003.
   At CSUB, Brown is responsible for the development, implementation,  and  maintenance of strategies related to compliance with NCAA, as well as student- athlete eligibility, and financial aid while serving as a liaison between the NCAA and the athletic department. He also supervises the sports of track and field, cross country, men's golf and baseball at CSUB.  Brown holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Law Degree from Pepperdine.



  Cindy Goodmon, Senior Associate Athletics Director, Senior Women's  Administrator


Cindy Goodmon was named senior women's administrator in the Summer of 2011. With her new responsibilities Goodmon oversees Title IX issues as related to Roadrunner Athletics and is the primary administrator for CSUB's 11 women's teams.

Goodmon also directly  supervises the sports of women's golf and women's soccer and is involved in the facilities and finance operations of the department. A member of the NCAA Committee for Recruiting and Staffing Issues.

Dena Freeman-Patton, Associate Athletics Director for Academics

Dena Freeman-Patton is the program’s first Associate Athletics Director for Academics overseeing the academic advising and other academic programs geared towards student-athletes at CSUB.
Freeman-Patton came to Bakersfield from Georgia State where she spent  five years as associate athletics director for academic support for all student-athletes while also serving as the academic advisor for the Georgia State football program. At CSUB she is the sport administrator for women's basketball and men's and women's swimming and diving.
Before her stint at Georgia State, Freeman-Patton was associate director of academic support and career development at Maryland from 2005 to 2007, and served as academic coordinator for the football program at NC State from 2002 to 2005.




  Karen Langston, Associate Athletics Director for Advancement


 Langston oversees CSUB's fundraising efforts including the Roadrunner  Scholarship Fund and the various sports-specific funds inside CSUB  Athletics.

Langston, who has previously handled many areas of  Roadrunner Athletics including game day promotion and marketing will  now spearhead the department's efforts in fund raising and major gifts.  She also supervises the sports of volleyball and sand volleyball.


Keith Ford, Sr. Assistant Athletics Director, Internal Operations

Keith Ford came to CSU Bakersfield after successful stints as an Assistant Athletic Director at Texas-San Antonio and Director of Tickets and Fan Development at Akron. Prior to that he held several ticketing positions in professional organizations like the Florida Marlins, Buffalo Bison and Fresno Grizzlies.
Ford is responsible for overseeing athletics facilities, event management, equipment and ticketing. He also serves as the department's liason for contracted companies such as Learfield Spots, Collegiate Consulting and Adidas. Ford also oversees the sports of wrestling and water polo.


  Mark Mayes, Assistant Athletics Director for Special Events

 Mark Mayes handles all special events and hospitality coordination for  some of the largest events every year for CSUB Athletics including the Spring BBQs, ROWDYs,  Roadrunner Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament and more.

Mayes is also the sport supervisor for baseball and plays a significant role for field operations at Hardt Field.



 Corey Costelloe, Assistant Athletics Director for Communications


Corey Costelloe joined the Roadrunner Athletics staff in the spring of 2011 as the Director of New Media/Broadcasting after working closely with the University externally as a local media  member for eight years.

Costelloe was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Communications in July of 2014. His duties include interactive and new media, video and audio production as well as play-by-play for CSUB men's basketball and baseball on the Roadrunner Radio Network and host of the athletic department's television show 'Roadrunner Rundown'. Corey also handles much of the external media relations for the Roadrunners, overseeing the Athletics Communications office and the marketing departments.
