BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—CSU Bakersfield returns to Western Athletic Conference baseball play this weekend when the Roadrunners travel to Sacramento State. Friday and Saturday's games begin at 6 p.m. with Sunday's finale getting under way at 12 p.m.

The Hornets are 21-20, 6-9 in WAC games. Sacramento State's Parker Brahms (5-3), Saturday's scheduled starter, was named WAC Pitcher of the Week last Monday. allowed just three hits, all of them singles, as he earned the win at Seattle U. He finished with six strikeouts and two walks over six scoreless innings to earn his third win in WAC play. Over his last four starts, he holds a 1.01 ERA and a .168 opponent's batting average with 20 strikeouts over 26.2 innings.

The Hornets' Friday night starter, Justin Dillon, threw the WAC's first no-hitter in nearly seven years on Feb. 23 against Northern Kentucky. Dillon faced just two batters over the minimum for the first no-no in Sacramento State's Division I history. Dillon is 3-4 with a 2.52 ERA this season. The Hornets have not named a Sunday starter. Ian Dawkins leads the team in hitting (.330) while Vinny Esposito has a team high 32 RBI's. Esposito and Kody Reynolds are tied for the Sacramento State lead in home runs with seven.

The Roadrunners dropped a 6-4 decision at UC Santa Barbara Tuesday to fall to 20-16 on the year. CSUB begins this week tied for third in the WAC with Utah Valley (6-6). With first place Grand Canyon (13-2) in its final year of transition, NM State (11-1) would be the number one seed at the WAC Tournament followed by CSUB who holds the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Wolverines.

David Metzgar posted an eighth inning single at UCSB to extend his hitting streak to 19 and his on-base streak to 33. He is two away from tying Mylz Jones (2013) for the school record for a consecutive game hitting streak. Metzgar is also two away from Jeremy Rodriguez's (2010) 35-game on-base school record.

Max Carter (R, 6-1) is scheduled to throw on Friday night for the ‘Runners. Andrew Hansen (R, 3-1) is expected to get the call on Saturday night before Aaron Charles (R, 1-0) is set to throw on Sunday.
