The Roadrunner Club Mission Statement 

To provide the maximum allowable financial support to talented and worthy student-athletes in a wide variety of sports by enhancement of California State University, Bakersfield community spirit and encouragement of community investment in the education of young adults.

Why YOUR contribution is important

With the Roadrunner's recent reclassification to NCAA Division I and with escalating tuition costs, local support of student-athlete scholarships is more important than ever.  At CSUB, funding provided by the State of California may not be used for scholarships.  To continue to provide more than 300 Roadrunner student-athletes from 19 teams, who represent our community accross the state, with the resources they need takes help from every member of the community who is able to give.

Scholarships are the lifeblood of the athletics department and providing for the students is our top priority.

Why CSUB Athletics is GOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY

CSUB student-athletes are team and campus leaders and, upon graduation from CSUB, are ready for the Bakersfield workplace.  Coaches search the nation for the best and brightest student-athletes and bring them to Bakersfield.  They complete their degrees at a rate 13% higher than the CSUB student body at large and they become outstanding professionals in our community in a number of professions including business, education and civic endeavors. 

Supporting the student-athlete scholarship fund is about much more than sports - it's about the students, and providing them the opportunity for a top notch experience, right here in Bakersfield!
