AZUSA, Calif. - The CSUB men's and women's track and field teams hit nine season best marks Friday as the Roadrunners competed at the Bryan Clay Invitational hosted by Azusa Pacific. CSUB's Steve Trojanowski, Cameron Jost and Derek Johnson were also in competition across town at the highly competitive Mt. Sac relays in Walnut, Calif.

In the 1,500, Edward Lee ran a personal-best of 4:01.41 to place 14th overall. Lee came back later in the day to run the best 800 meter time of the season, finishing in 2:00.27. Freshman David Mitchell won his heat of the 400 meters in a best time of 49.53 to finish 16th overall. Cameron Jost finished second in his heat of the 400 meters at the Mt. Sac relays, running 48.50 to place ninth overall. He then was transported back across town to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational to run a leg on the men's 4x400 meter relay team which placed fifth in 3:20.01.

On the women's side, senior Katherine Patrick improved her 1,500 meter personal best by running 4:55.89. April Cacuyog won her heat of the 400 meter dash to place 18th overall in a season-low time of 59.71. In the 400 meter hurdles, both Connie King (1:06.57) and Jenah Kincaid (1:08.17) ran personal best times. Judith Mata ran 19:57.50 in the 5,000 meters for her season-low time. The women's 4x400 meter relay team also had a season-best performance, running 4:03.42 as King and Cacuyog teammed with Sheena Cooper and Princess Watts.

"We had some very good marks today," Head Coach Alan Collatz. "Our distance runners had a good day today with Patrick and Mata on the women's side and Lee and Mitchell from the men's team. Another very encouraging week of results."

CSUB will return to action next Saturday, sending athletes to the Tommy Lister Invitational in Los Angeles and to the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif.
