Local radio host, Scott Cox (KERN 1180) challenged sophomore pitcher Kristen Schlegel to an at bat on-air last Friday, and listeners responded with contributions toward the Strike Out Breast Cancer effort if Schlegel were to strike out Cox.  Prior to the CSUB Softball doubleheader vs. South Dakota, Cox took his at-bat.

Up to $1,400 was pledged on the radio on Friday and additional funds were raised during the game in the jersey auction.  Proceeds from the event will be given to Links for Life, a local support group that funds free screening for women under 40.
