BAKERSFIELD, Calif.--CSU Bakersfield (28-14, 11-4), which sits in first place in the current Western Athletic Conference standings travels to third place Texas State (18-22, 9-6) for a three-game series this weekend. Friday's action is set for a 4:30 p.m. (PDT) start. Saturday's game begins at 12 p.m. (PDT). Sunday's series finale gets underway at 10 a.m. (PDT).

This is the first time that CSU Bakersfield and Texas State are playing baseball against one another. Texas State is coming off a 4-1 victory over Texas A&M Tuesday night in San Marcos. The Bobcats are led by Cody Lovejoy who is hitting .339 with one home run and 16 RBI's.

After playing the first 11 and 16 of the first 20 games at home in Hardt Field this season, Bakersfield will play 11 of the final 14 games on schedule away from home.

CSU Bakersfield has enjoyed a tremendous amount of success with two outs since the beginning of the UTSA series Apr. 12. In the three games against UTSA, the Roadrunners scored 16 of its 22 runs during the series with two outs. All six of the CSUB runs in the series finale against UTSA were scored with two outs.

Against valley rival Fresno State Apr. 17, CSUB mounted a four-run charge to take the lead against the Bulldogs with two outs in the top of the seventh. The 'Runners would add a fifth run with two outs in the top of the eighth.

In the Apr. 19 game against Dallas Baptist, the Roadrunners scored six of their 10 runs against the Patriots with two outs. During the Apr. 20 game against Dallas Baptist, CSUB scored five of the team's 10 runs with two outs. In the Apr. 23 2-0 victory over Fresno State, the Roadrunners scored both runs with two outs in the eighth inning.

In total, CSUB has scored 35 of its last 55 runs with two outs since Apr. 12.
