BAKERSFIELD, Calif., - CSU Bakersfield Athletics, Nelligan Sports Marketing and My 45 (KUVI) have reached an agreement to air the February 1 Roadrunner men's basketball game at WAC-leading New Mexico State in the Bakersfield market live on My 45.
This marks the first time since the Division I reclassification that CSUB basketball has been available to viewers on a local broadcast televisiion station. It's also the first time in nearly two decades that a Roadrunner away game has been carried on local television.
“We thank our friends at New Mexico State and at My 45 for helping us out in this venture,” said Athletic Director Jeff Konya. “It was such a great game against New Mexico State the first time around at our place that we felt it was important to share the rematch with the Bakersfield market and with the success we've had with our men's basketball program this year, we wanted to keep the momentum going by allowing our fans television access to our team on the road.”
Coverage of the game will begin at 5:30 P.M. It will also be carried on local television in Las Cruces, N.M., as well as ESPN3.com and on CSUB's radio flagship KERN Newstalk 1180 in Bakersfield and surrounding communities.
