The Main Soccer Field
The CSU Bakersfield Main Soccer Field is the primary home to the CSUB men's & women's soccer program. The facility has a variety of grandstand and field seating arrangements to accomodate 2,500 fans.
The Roadrunner men set a school single-game attendance record with a standing-room only crowd during their 2011 NCAA Tournament game vs. Saint Mary's. It was both the first NCAA Division I Tournament match for CSUB and the first hosted at The Main Soccer Field. CSUB has come close to breaking that record on several occassions since, including a crowd of over 2,000 for a nationally-televised game vs. San Jose State in October of 2014.
The facility also features an adjacent practice field to accomodate multiple teams. The Main Soccer Field hosted the 2015 Western Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament.
The field itself is as well-kept as any in the nation. The natural-bermuda grass playing surface allows for one of the best playing surfaces in California. The soccer-only facility provides the chance for athletes to play on a well-kept surface that is not shared with any other sports.
