The Roadrunner Scholarship Fund

Scholarship aid changes lives! In giving to the Roadrunner Scholarship Fund each year you provide aid to student-athletes who are up to the challenge of NCAA Division I competition AND the academic rigors of college life. Long known as The Roadrunner Club, this fund provides financial support to all the CSUB teams and is the backbone of Roadrunner Athletics. State funds may not be used for scholarships so community and fan support to this fund is vital to our success.

Our mission is to provide the maximum allowable financial support to talented and worthy student-athletes in a wide variety of sports.

Current Student-Athlete Impact

Molly O'Hagan-Volleyball

"Receiving a scholarship has given me the opportunity to explore my future career choices while pursuing a collegiate career in both sand and indoor volleyball. The skills I have learned both on the court and in the classroom will have me prepared and ready to take on the working world."

Former Student-Athlete Impact

Mike McCarthy, Baseball

Pitcher, Boston Red Sox Organization

“Student-athletes are given the opportunity to represent CSUB in the classroom, on the field of competition and within the community of Bakersfield. Receiving a scholarship gave me the opportunity to be involved on campus in student government and campus committees. I take great pride in knowing I am able to help provide those opportunities to the next generation of student-athletes just as someone did before me.”

Maggie Cushine, Softball

Resource Development Director,

Boys & Girls Club of Kern County

“My scholarship allowed me to treat being an athlete as my job and allowed me to focus on my studies. I was a much better student because of the scholarship and I valued my education because of those who were financially supporting me and my dream of playing college softball AND getting a college education. Supporting CSUB athletics is supporting the future of Bakersfield.  Many of my CSUB teammates stayed in Bakersfield after graduating, giving back to the community that gave so much to us! My husband, Michael, and I contribute to CSUB Athletics because we want to pay it forward.”
