2015 (R-SENIOR): Continued javelin success, improving upon previous personal best five times…Broke PR in javelin in first meet by winning at Cal State LA Invite (189-07)…Won javelin at four more meets including when he posted personal best of 204-05 at Bulldog Invite…Mark made him first ‘Runner to go over 200 feet since 2001 and gave him the fourth-best mark all-time for CSUB…Posted distance of 199-04 at WAC Outdoors to win WAC title and earn second First Team All-Conference honor of career…Recorded PR in hammer throw (156-00) at Ben Brown Invitational…Also posted best mark of season for CSUB in discus (109-02).

2014 (R-JUNIOR): Threw the javelin at seven meets for the Roadrunners…Broke his previous personal best with a distance of 181-06 in a fifth-place finish at the Ben Brown Invite…Reset personal best with a throw of 184-10 at the WAC Outdoor Championships…The performance earned him WAC All-Conference honors and the 13th spot on Bakersfield’s All-Time Top 20 list in the event…Named to the WAC All-Academic Team.

2013 (R-SOPHOMORE): Continued to have a successful presence for the ‘Runners in the javelin throw as well as a member of the 4x100 relay team…Placed fourth at the Cal Poly Pomona Preview with a throw of 163-05…was sixth at the CSUN Invite with a 164-00 throw…Threw a distance of 169-06 at the Bulldog Open to take third…Finished second at the Great West Conference Championships with a season-best 172-04 throw.

2012 (R-FRESHMAN): Traded in his glove to join the CSUB track and field team where he arose as a javelin star... Placed fifth at the Great West Conference meet with a throw of 178-4…The mark topped his previous personal-best mark by nearly four feet and put him in CSUB’s record book for javelin at No. 15 all-time…Posted several top-10 finishes throughout the season including taking fifth in the javelin (172-05) at the Steve Scott Invite at UC Irvine and 10th in the javelin (150-03.5) at the Cal Poly Invite.... Was named to the 2011-12 Great West Conference Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference team after recording a 3.36 GPA.

2010-11 (FRESHMAN): Came to CSUB to play baseball for the Roadrunners, but didn't play during the 2010-11 season and took a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Rosamond High School...Coach was Stan Lyons...Chosen first team High Desert League as an outfielder...Team earned a runner-up finish in CIS Southern Section VI.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 17, 1992…Son of Leonard and Eileen Grimes…Planning on majoring in biochemistry.
