BAKERSFIELD, Calif.—The CSU Bakersfield men's soccer team begins Western Athletic Conference play this week with a pair of matches.
The Roadrunners travel to UNLV Friday night for the league opener. Kick is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on the Mountain West Digital Network. The Rebels have lost five in a row entering this week's play and are 2-7 this season. Danny Musovski, a preseason All-Conference selection, leads the team in goals (3) and points (8). The Roadrunners lead the all-time series against the Rebels 7-2-2.
CSUB returns home Sunday for a 1 p.m. against Seattle U. The match will be streamed on Youtube via Brown Cow Soccer. The defending WAC champion, Seattle U, is 4-4 beginning this week. The Redhawks are at home Friday night when they host No. 18 Utah Valley before heading to Bakersfield.
Alex Roldan leads the team in goals (3) and points (7). Preseason WAC Player of the Year David Olsen has scored twice for SU this season. The Redhawks lead the all-time series 11-7-3.
CSU Bakersfield begins league action with a 2-6 record after dropping a 4-1 decision to CSUN last Sunday night. The Roadrunners played most of the match a man down after Anthony Negrete picked up a red card in the 43rd minute of the first half. Julian Zamora scored the lone CSUB goal, the 24th of his career.
